Kelsey Mitchell and A’ja Wilson just made WNBA history.
For the first time in league history, two players have eclipsed 1,000 points in the same regular season, putting a historic exclamation point on the WNBA’s 30th season.
Mitchell, the Indiana Fever scoring machine, entered the final stretch of the season already having rewritten the WNBA’s single-season scoring record. She surpassed A’ja Wilson’s previous record of 1,021 points from 2024.
Wilson then joined Mitchell in the 1,000-point club, adding another remarkable chapter to her already historic career. Wilson was the first player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 points in a season when she accomplished the feat in 2024.
Now, they share another piece of history.
